William and Mary
Assistant Professor in Plasma Physics position
W&M is hiring a new assistant professor with expertise in plasma physics. Any areas of plasma physics will be considered, independent of research methodology. The applicant is expected to establish and maintain a vibrant research program that inspires a highly motivated undergraduate and graduate student body which includes advising Ph.D students as well as mentoring undergraduate capstone projects. The department currently has 2 faculty members active in plasma physics, covering theoretical, computational and experimental plasma physics, and is looking for applicants whose research would align with the broader US plasma/fusion community vision. Teaching expectation is the traditional load for a research university. William & Mary and the Department of Physics value diversity (bit.ly/physicsvalues) and look forward to submissions from applicants who actively want to continue to support a culture of belonging and provide an environment which embraces inclusion and diversity.
